The Carolina Campus Community Garden (CCCG) is a program of the North Carolina Botanical Garden where they grow vegetables and fruit so that all UNC employees have access to fresh, sustainably grown produce. This is made possible through the shared efforts of staff, students, faculty, and local residents. In collaboration with the landscape architect and sculptor Dr. Michael Layne, students in Julieta Sherk’s Landscape Design Courses designed and built the artist’s design for an outdoor sculpture that increases awareness of the importance of understanding how man’s actions affect the land.
